Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and beyond
Kansai is where we begin. We go further when it serves the journey.

大阪
Osaka
Osaka is our base and a natural first or last night in Kansai. It is a city of food counters, rivers and neighbourhoods with their own character, best met with someone who knows where to stop.
Moments we look for
- An evening by the river as the lights come on
- A counter seat where the cook talks you through each dish
- A morning market before the city wakes

京都
Kyoto
Kyoto rewards those who go early and slowly. Beyond the famous sights are gardens, workshops and quiet streets where the city’s traditions are still part of daily life.
Moments we look for
- A garden visited before the crowds
- An hour in a workshop with a maker
- A simple lunch in a quiet neighbourhood

奈良
Nara
Nara was Japan’s capital before Kyoto. Its temples include some of the oldest wooden buildings in the world, and beside the city lies a forest that has been protected for more than a thousand years.
Moments we look for
- A walk into the forest beyond the temple grounds
- Old timber and stone in the morning light
- Time with the region’s sake, tea or brush makers

その先へ
Beyond Kansai
From the islands of the Seto Inland Sea to the pilgrimage trails of the Kii mountains, some journeys are better for going further. We discuss these request by request, and say clearly what we can arrange well.
Moments we look for
- Island days on the Seto Inland Sea
- Forest trails on the Kii Peninsula
- Other regions, discussed request by request
